GFA, Kwesi Appiah console Mubarak Wakaso

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has extended its deepest condolence to Mubarak Wakaso of the Ghana Blackstars on the death of his son.

Mubarak Junior passed last week in the Northern Region while the Rubin Kazan player was on holiday. His late son was buried soon after in accordance with Islamic practice.

In a letter signed by the President of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi, he shared his sympathies with the family of Mubarak Wakaso on behalf of the entire management and staff of the Ghana Football Association.

He added that the GFA would continue to support Mr Wakaso in this sad and trying moment of his life.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mubarak Junior and I would like to express my deepest condolences to you, your wife and your family on behalf of the entire management and staff of the Ghana Football Association.

Mubarak Junior's passing is particularly poignant because he was so bright and active. We do not know why these things happen. You can be comforted by the fact that your child was so handsome and so loved by all of us while he was with us.

The GFA will offer you all the support you need in this difficult period. Please accept our heartfelt condolences at this heart-rending time and we ask you to please pass these sentiments on to your wife and the entire Wakaso family.

Meanwhile, Black Stars head coach Kwesi has also written to the midfielder over the death of his son.

The Black Stars boss spoke to the Russia-based midfielder last week when his four-month old baby boy died in Tamale while on holidays.

Appiah spoke to the midfielder to assure him of the support of the Black Stars technical team and players during this difficult period.

"I can't imagine the terrible loss you must feel at the death of your son Mubarak Junior," Kwesi Appiah told the Russia-based midfielder and his wife.

"I hope you will feel somewhat comforted in knowing that you couldn't have been more caring and supporting parents.

"His life was a blessing to all of us who had the privilege to know him.

"On behalf of the Technical Team of the Black Stars and the playing body, we offer our deepest sympathy and open arms during this painful period."
