GFA, Ministry of Sports commend Happy FM

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports have commended Happy FM, the multiple award winning sports station, for their support in keeping the momentum and the spirit of the 2014 world cup season alive in Ghana.

The two institutions represented by their respected heads Mr. Kwasi Nyantekyi and Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah made the remarks when Happy FM’s World Cup Ambassador and morning sports show host, Charles Osei Asibey paid a courtesy call on them in the company of staff of the station.

“The Ambassador’s tour is a good campaign that needs the support of all of us. This effort of Global Media Alliance and Happy FM is highly commendable...it will help bring all Ghanaians together in support and prayer for the Black Stars. The effort of the Ambassador will help to bring a lot of attention to the world cup”, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the GFA noted.

Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Minister of Sports expressed hope in Happy FM’s Ambassadorial role in raising the interest high in Ghana. He said, “The preparation for the World Cup picked up slowly and there were a few hiccups, but I believe with your coming on board, with Global Media Alliance, Happy FM and all of us working together, we will now raise the momentum to another level”.

Expressing his gratitude to the GFA and the Ministry of Sports, Charles Osei Asibey, Global Media Alliance’s World Cup Ambassador and Happy FM’s morning Sports show host noted that “We are thankful to the GFA and the Ministry of sports for admiring our efforts. Global Media Alliance and its broadcasting units including Happy FM are committed to supporting the Ghana Black Stars in their bid to make history in Brazil 2014 in our own unique way”.

The World Cup Ambassador will be visiting Corporate Ghana, Civil Society Organizations, Religious and Traditional Groups as well as Public Officials to seek their support and prayers on behalf of the team.  He would also encourage the symbolic gesture of placing Ghana flags in their homes, cars, offices and other places of work and entertainment.
