GFA/PLB Awards: Dormaahene is the Special Guest

The Omanhene of the Dormaa Traditional Area, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, will be the Special Guest of Honour at this years GFA/PLB First Capital Plus Awards Night, which comes off at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, on October 30.

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, who is the owner, bankroller and life patron of the former Ghana league champions Aduana Stars is expected to bring his rich royal presence to bare on the awards while using the occasion to express his views on current happenings on the football scene in the country as well as the way forward.

An active sportsman during his hey days at Dormaa Secondary School, Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II helped his school on and off the field to win laurels in sporting activities.

He is currently a patron of the Retired Footballers Association of Ghana as well as the president of the Dormaa Traditional council

The astute justice of the Fast Track High Court will be joined by great football personalities cross the length and breadth of the country for the flagship event of the Ghana Football Association which is expected to honour over 20 individuals, clubs and corporate bodies as well.

Chief among them will be the Director General of SSNIT, Mr. Ernest Thompson, who for many years was the Board Secretary of Accra Hearts of Oak.

The Awards Ceremony instituted to reward and recognize players, officials and clubs who excelled in the 2014/15 edition of the First Capital Plus Premier League will see Berekum Chelsea’s Kofi Owusu battling Wa All Stars’s goalie Richard Ofori and defender Eric Opoku of AshantiGold FC for the topmost award of the night, the footballer of the season.
