The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku on Sunday attended a thanksgiving service at the St Andrews Anglican Church in Accra to express his appreciation to God and the church for his victory in last month’s GFA Presidential Elections.

Kurt Okraku got the nod to head the FA after polling 93 votes in a keenly contested elections held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra on Friday, October 25.

Clad in all-white, the former Dreams FC CEO was joined by members of his ‘Game Changing’ team, GFA Executive Council member Nana Oduro Sarfo and his wife to express gratitude to God for the historic feat.

Delivering a sermon on the theme ‘victory is determined by God’, Reverend Samuel Quartey likened Kurt’s victory to that of David and remarked that the victory was inspired by God.

He urged the GFA boss to recognize his new role as a lifetime opportunity to turn around the dwindling fortunes of Ghana football and remain faithful to God.

He assured Kurt of the support of the church and indicated his confidence in Kurt’s ability to deliver on his promises.

‘Every victory, every success, every promotion is determined by God who created Heaven and Earth. Our scripture for today which we read from 1st Samuel chapter 17 verse 45 to 47 are statements or prayers of faith that David declared”.

“Victory is not determined by the money you have, not by your name, not by the amount of campaign you do, not determined by a prophet but by God. If God says you will be first, no one can change it. Kurt loves God and the nation and God gave him victory”, he said.

Speaking to the press after the service, Kurt Okraku thanked God for his victory and reiterated his commitment to restore the lost image of Ghana football.

“We embarked on a journey to contest for the leadership of the Football Association and we believe that we had to come and give thanks to the almighty God so all of us, the campaign team, family and church members decided to come here. White in Ghana means victory so we are here to celebrate our victory and to thank God.
