GFA Refer Taylor Transfer Saga To FIFA

Tue, 24 Jun 2003 Source: gna

The Ghana Football Association has referred the Charles Taylor transfer impasse to football’s governing body, FIFA for advice. The FA says the decision was taken in view of the entrenched positions taken by the parties involved in the standoff.

FA general secretary, Kofi Nsiah, told Joy Sports that, whatever advice is given by FIFA would help the Association to take a final decision on the never-ending issue, which will be binding on the disputing parties.

The FA upon fresh nvestigations into the issue a few weeks ago, advised that Accra Hearts of Oak meet with the player at the centre of the controversy, Charles Taylor, and resolve their differences within a week. The meeting has however been impossible with each party claiming that the other is stalling attempts to convene it.
