Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association, Lilian Addy, has revealed that the Sports Ministry were the major beneficiaries of the World Cup coefficient money.
Lilian Addy, who is the Chairperson of the Ghana Women’s League Board, says the Ministry took five out of the seven coefficient money expected to be given to the management committee members of the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The Black Queens management committee chairperson was reacting to an issue raised by Hon. Muntaka, branding players to be unpatriotic and claiming FA officials go on committees because of money.
“I want you to get this clear that, all the World Cup money was not given to the FA. The Sports Ministry took five and gave us only four,” Madam Lillian Addy told Hot Fm in Accra.
A supposed amount of $577, 500 was expected to be given to seven management committee members of the Black Stars after the tournament in Brazil.
The situation means only $165, 000 was disbursed to the management committee members with the rest being withheld by the Sports Ministry.
