GFA confirms Brazil friendly talks

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed an approach by Brazil to play a friendly against the Black Stars.
GFA spokesperson Ibrahim Sanni Daara told Angel FM that even though Brazil has made contact with them, the proposed date for the friendly match clashes with Ghana’s World Cup qualifying play-off game, should the Black Stars edge past Zambia on September 6.
“Brazil approached us and expressed interest in playing against us. The date they want to play us (October 15) is around the same time we will play the first leg of the world cup qualifying playoff.”
Daara added that whilst the GFA is interested in playing against Brazil, no contract can be signed after the Zambia game, adding that the date will be found after the play off date.
“We have told them that whilst we are interested in playing against them, we cannot sign any contract until after the Zambia match.
“So we have asked them to find a date after the play off date which will not clash with our programmes. We know that we will beat Zambia to qualify for the play offs. We also do not want any distractions ahead of the Zambia match, so we will speak to them again after the Zambia game.”
