A strong expression of anger and disapproval by some Ghanaians has forced the Ghana Football Association to pull down ‘horrible’ pictures of Black Stars players it posted on Twitter on Thursday.

The official Twitter account of the FA, posted images Black Stars players, clad in Ghana flags and jerseys with the caption ‘Our team, Our hope, our aspiration’.

However the pictures which were intended to generate excitement among Ghanaians seem to have rather quenched any form of affection or hope for the team.

The graphics were welcomed with vile criticism by people who slammed the designer for producing works of inferior quality.

Others also compared Ghana’s graphics to other countries and questioned why the FA would subject itself to ridicule by contracting an amateur designer to produce the pictures.

The intensity of the attacks compelled the FA to delete the pictures. They were however unlucky as the pictures had already been downloaded by the Twitter users.

Meanwhile the team has left its base in Dubai for Egypt where the tournament will be held.

After almost three weeks of preparation in the Gulf country, the Black Stars are primed to take on the rest of the continent as they bid win Ghana its fifth AFCON.

In two matches played ahead of the tournament, Ghana failed to score a single, losing one and drawing the other.

Coach Kwesi Appiah’s men will have their first test on Tuesday, June 25 against Benin in Group F.

The match is scheduled for 8:00pm Ghana time.
