Black Stars player Kevin-Prince Boateng has asked a rhetorical question about happenings in Ghana football following the dissolution of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) by government amidst revelation of widespread fraud, corruption and bribery.

“And now, who was the one not telling the truth?” the Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder tweeted.

Boateng was sacked from Ghana’s 2018 World Cup camp for what GFA officials called gross acts of insubordination towards then-coach Kwesi Appiah.

However, Boateng later in an interview with Sky sports disclosed he was sacked for questioning the GFA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi about the whereabouts of FIFA’s $ 1million given to finalists to prepare for the tournament.

Boateng and his former AC Milan teammate Sulley Muntari were sacked hours before Ghana’s final Group G match against Portugal. Ghana was eventually eliminated in the first round of the competition.

Video evidence in undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ recently aired exposé showed widespread corruption in Ghana football where the GFA president, football administrators, match commissioners, referees and some officials of the NSA were caught taking bribes.
