The Ghana Football Association could be in for another ordeal should Division One Zone 1 leaders Techiman City FC be banned and demoted over an alleged unsubstantiated bribery allegations.
Techiman City deservedly won the Zone 1 league with 63 points with their closest rivals RTU and Arsenals having 58 and 56 respectively but a protest was lodged against the winners and the case which has been sat on over for the past two months has now been referred to a properly constituted committee or judicial body.
Rumours are rife that Berekum Arsenal FC and RTU who seems to be behind the problems of Zone 1 winners Techiman City FC are both claiming to be the team to go up the Premier league should the winners have their qualification revoked and this could start another legal battle.
Exclusive investigations done by footballmadeinghana.com clearly revealed that RTU and Arsenal have joined forces with Wa African United just to disturb the promotion of Techiman City FC and for their own selfish interest.
Series of meetings involving these three clubs have been held secretly over the past two months with the common agenda being how to initiate more falsehood against Techiman City so that they will be sent to the third-tier.
The GFA must brace itself for another legal tussle should Techiman City who won the Zone 1 and deserves to play in the elite division be demoted.
The major worry for the Ghana Football Association is that once the common enemy, Techiman City is defeated then the fight between Berekum Arsenal and RTU will begin for the sole slot which won’t also end now.
It seems majority of the people at the Ghana Football ruling body are looking up to this with people like Ntow Fianko of Berekum Arsenal FC and Jones Abu Alhassan of RTU tight-lipped on the issue at the moment but the truth is, if Techiman City are demoted, then surely the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League season will not start any time soon.
As a matter of fact, all the three teams from the three zones namely Techiman City from Zone 1, Dwarfs from Zone 2 and Dreams FC from Zone three should all play in the Premier League as in terms of player quality and general output they were on top throughout the season.
