Former Black Stars player Augustine Arhinful has suggested that the coach of the national team, Avram Grant, should consider dropping both Jordan Ayew and Afriyie Acquah in the next national assignment.

Arhinful’s suggestion comes on the back of a leaked audio tape where the wife of Afriyie Acquah, Amanda, is heard confirming that she had an amorous and sexual relationship with Ghana and Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew.

The content of the leaked tape has become a subject of national debate because both Afriyie Acquah and Jordan Ayew are members of the current Black Stars set up.

The Black Stars will assemble next week ahead of a crucial 2017 Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda and according to Arhinful, if the GFA feels the scandal will negatively affect the performance of the national team then the two players must be dropped.

“The GFA must speak to the two players privately and try to calm the waters. However, if the coach and the GFA believe there is tension between the two after speaking with them, then I suggest that both players are excused from the next assignment. The problems of the two cannot get in the way of the National team,” Arhinful said on JOY FM.
