GFA permits coach Bash to keep AshGold job

Ashanti Gold’s head coach Bashir Hayford who has been placed in charge of the Female Under-20 team, the Black Princesses, has been permitted to keep his job at club level, Footy-ghana.com has confirmed.

In what looks like a departure from a recent insistence on recruiting full-time coaches for all national teams, Hayford would be combining both duties, his club’s spokesperson confirmed to footy-ghana.com.

“In accepting that our head coach Bashir Hayford takes up a new role at the female national team, he informed us he has been permitted to keep both jobs and further explained to us how it will not affect our club negatively,” Kofi Yawson said.

Already 26 Princesses have been called to camp at Prampram from Monday for preparations ahead 2014 Women's World Cup qualifier at home to Guinea Buissau next month.

Ghana play Guinea Bissau in Accra in the first leg qualifier on October 26.
