Accra, Oct 19, GNA 96 The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received keys to a 500,000 dollars office complex funded by the Federation of International Football Association, (FIFA).
The world soccer controlling body provided 400,000 dollars with GFA dolling out 100,000 dollars as support for the project which is the baby of the FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, aimed at bridging the gap between developing and advanced countries.
The plush complex situated in the same premises as the main office of the GFA located at Ridge in Accra has a conference room, offices, kitchenette and other ultra modern facilities.
The complex is the second project funded by FIFA after the Ghanaman Center of Soccer Excellence at Prampram.
Kwesi Nyantakyie, President of the GFA said his outfit will maximize the utilization of the resources injected into the project by FIFA and ensure that the investment impact positively on the development of the globular leather in the country.
Papa Owusu-Ankomah, Minister of Education, Science and Sports charged the Association to employ the culture of maintenance to keep the facility in shape all the time.
He pledged government's commitment towards the development of soccer and sports in general.
Government, he said will do whatever it takes to ensure the CAN 2008 Cup of Africa Nations to be staged in Ghana become the best in Africa. The Minister advised football clubs in the country to endeavour to emulate the success story of the Black Stars and rub shoulders with the best of the world.
'If the Stars are rubbing shoulders with the best in the world, the clubs must learn to do same.
'They must make it a duty to build their own offices and facilities to enable them compete at the highest level=94.
