GFA send congratulatory messages to Meteors and Princesses

Accra, Sept. 15, GNA 96n The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has extended its compliments and that of the Ghanaian sporting public to the victorious Black Meteors and Black Princesses for their gallant entry into the finals of the football competition at the on-going 10th All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

Emmanuel Gyimah, Acting General Secretary of the GFA in a Goodwill Message to the teams copied to GNA Sports in Accra on Thursday said the qualification of the Meteors to the finals of the competition is historic and worth celebrating.


He said the feat of the Princesses also shows the consistency that the team has shown after they won a bronze in the 2007 version of the All Africa Games held in Algeria and have improve on their performance as they gun for the ultimate gold.


Mr Gyimah urged the two teams to go for the Gold on Saturday when the Meteors face South Africa in the finals while the Princesses engage Cameroon in a 91do or die' affair to reign supreme on the Africa continent.

The GFA scribe said Ghanaians are proud of the teams and looking forward to accord them a rousing and hero's welcome as they arrive with the trophies whilst praying to the Almighty God to give the strength to fight for the Gold to make all Ghanaians proud for their feat.


Meteors pipped their Cameroonian counterparts 1-0 in the semis to book their way into the finals whilst the Princesses also walloped Algeria 3-0 to advance to the final stage.
