Footy-ghana.com has learnt that the hierarchy of the Ghana Football Association will turn down the request of Black Stars players to leave stand in coach Maxwell Konadu in charge for the 2015 African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea.
According to our sources, the GFA will go ahead and appoint Avram Grant as the new head coach, despite acknowledging the players’ concerns regarding the limited time Grant would have with the team before the tournament.
Footy-ghana.com understands that Grant will be announced as the substantive head coach of the Black Stars by this weekend, and Konadu is likely to stay on as the Israeli coach’s assistant ahead of Equatorial Guinea 2015.
