The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has decided to support Ghana Premier League clubs to survive the Coronavirus (COVID-19) with $5000 each from the StarTimes Media rights Sponsorship package.
This is coming following weeks of calls from clubs for support to help them survive the financial difficulties presented by what has been described as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Looks like the top-flight clubs are now about to smile to the bank. Space FM is reporting that the Ghana FA has already begun making payment of the $5000 to the accounts of the 18 Premier League clubs.
If the processes are completed in time, the benefiting clubs should receive the alerts of the money later today or early on Tuesday.
This is to help the club cover expenses of their players and any other administrative costs that may come up in these trying times where the fight against the COVID-19 continues.
Meanwhile, the 2019/2020 football season remains suspended and clubs have been advised to continue to adhere to the safety protocols as outlined by the government and the health experts
