Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has confirmed the federation is preparing to file a case at the Court of Appeal to challenge aspects of the findings of the Presidential Commission on the 2014 World Cup.
Findings from the Justice Senyo Dzamefe-led Commission is according to law, now akin to a High Court ruling six months after the report was presented to President John Mahama.
Some aspects of the findings made by the three-member commission indicted some officials of the Ghana FA with recommendations made for the removal off some individuals like George Afriyie from the management committee of the Black Stars.
These findings can however be only overturned by the second highest court in Ghana which is the Court of Appeal.
And GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has confirmed steps are being taken to initiate such an action.
“The findings of the commission as far as the interest of the GFA and individuals are concerned will certainly be taken up at the right forum which is the Court of Appeal,” he told reporters.
“When we file, you will hear about it. It will become public knowledge.”
The Presidential Commission was set up by President John Mahama to probe into the event leading to Ghana’s disastrous campaign at the 2014 World Cup.
It was the worst performance ever of the Black Stars since its maiden campaign at the World Cup in 2006 after crashing out of the tournament at the group stage.
