FA Relations Chief of Asante Kotoko, Mr. Thomas Boakye-Agyeman has explained the force of attraction that has kept the relationship between the Porcupine Warriors and their headline sponsor - MTN Ghana together.
"MTN believes in working with champions and I believe that is the reason why they have been working with Asante Kotoko," Mr. Boakye-Agyeman told the press at the MTN House in Accra on Monday, December 11, 2017.
The Communications Manager of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana [Thomas Boakye-Agyeman] led a team of delegation to present the two trophies Asante Kotoko won in the just ended season to the Executives of MTN Ghana.
Asante Kotoko despite their difficulties last season were the crowned champions of the 2017 MTN-FA Cup as well as the President Cup.
According to Mr. Boakye-Agyeman, the renewal of the contractual agreement between MTN and Asante Kotoko on the road to the finals of the MTN-FA Cup served as a motivating factor in their memorable 3-1 victory over Hearts of Oak at the then Tamale Sports Stadium.
Mr. Boakye-Agyeman promised MTN that Asante Kotoko will also do them proud and hoped for an eternal relationship between the two entities.
"With Asante Kotoko, we know MTN found in us a better, bigger partner who they are going to stay with for a long time because we'll also do them proud as they have been doing for us," he said.
Having won the MTN-FA Cup, Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in next year's CAF Confederation Cup competition.
