Ghana League Clubs Association Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo says calls for the Ghana football leagues to be cancelled immediately due to the coronavirus outbreak, are misplaced.
The GHALCA chief believes such calls are a bit premature insisting our situation is way different from other countries.
Major leagues abroad have been suspended with serious consideration been given to nullifying the current season for a fresh start when situations improve.
The Ghana Football Association has currently suspended all football competitions as the infection rate in Ghana increases.
With such termination talks gaining currency, football connoisseurs in the country have initiated similar discussions about the Ghana premier league and other local competitions.
However, Fianoo in an interview with Kumasi FM, a local radio station disagrees with such a move.
He said “It is too early to call for the termination of the league, our situation is different from other countries calling for the cancellation of their league season due to Covid-19”.
“Ours is very critical considering how the momentum built in bringing the love back after the Anas exposè”.
“This is not the time to talk about terminating it,we must consult all stakeholders which is ongoing” he concluded.
