AshantiGold defender Awudu Nafiu says head coach Bashir Hayford has not lost the dressing room but has apologized for their downward spiral.
The Miners’ miserable continued last Thursday when they got eliminated from the round of 32 stage by second-tier side Asokwa Deportivo.
Pressure is mounting on Hayford to resign but centre-back Nafiu has jumped to his rescue.
“The coach should not be blamed, no one should blame him as he is the same coach who led us to win the league,” Nafiu told Footballmadeinghana.com
“The supporters should have patience as things will change very soon, we still have faith in the coach
“There is nothing like a fight between the old and new players, there is no player mutiny, the problem is cohesion, and the old players and the new players are now gelling together.”
