WAFA SC whiz kid Majeed Ashimeru has undergone surgery in Belgium to correct a knee injury.

He has been sidelined for close to two months and be ready for chunk of the second round matches in the Ghana Premier League.

A statement on the club's website read: "The talented youngster went under the knife yesterday (Friday) at the AZ Monica Hospital in the city of Antwerp

"Dr.Geert Declercq, famous specialist and also doctor of the Belgium national team, performed the operation.

"Ashimeru will spend close to six weeks on the sidelines to recovery fully fit."
