GNPC rolls out viewing centres for Black Stars match

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), headline sponsor of the Black Stars, have broken new grounds once again in their promise to deliver the passion of the nation to all Ghanaians.

It would be recalled that following appeals from Kumasi fans to the Sports Minister Hon Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, a giant screen was provided at the Jackson's Park for the Ghana v Zambia World Cup qualifier.

This time around, GNPC have also stepped in to create special viewing centers in the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi and Accra. It means thousands of football lovers will enjoy the televised public viewing of the 2014 World Cup qualifying match between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Pharaohs of Egypt.

In their bid to boost camp morale ahead of the World Cup qualifier against GNPC also announced a 50% per cent increment on the winning bonuses for the match.

The partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and GNPC will ensure that the game on Tuesday 15 October 2013 will be a special experience for millions before, during and after the match.

In Accra, the Osu Oxford Street is expected to host one production which would comprise of a giant LED Video Screen of 13 feet by 26feet; whilst in Kumasi there will be two viewing centres to attract the crowds at the Jubilee Park in Asafo near the Prempeh Assembly Hall and the second on the Bantama High Street.

With mega P.A Systems, beautiful crowds and top DJ's to provide music, there would be no shortage of excitement to stimulate and hype the crowds. The atmosphere at the GNPC Fans Arenas promises to be exciting and highly entertaining.

The CEO of GNPC Alex Mould has assured that the national petroleum body would continue to “fuel the passion of the nation”.

It would also be recalled that GNPC also sponsored the highly acclaimed Afcon 2013 Fans Diaries which followed the exploits of the Black Stars through the eyes of their fans and players.
