Ghana’s leader of delegation to next month’s Olympic Games in Brazil, Christopher Eslifie, has revealed to Starr Sports his outfit has presented an estimated budget of $600,000 to the Ministry of Sports.
According to the Chief of Mission, initially his outfit had presented an amount of $800,000 to the Ministry for an estimated contingent of 25 players.
But unfortunately only 16 contingents have qualified for the multi – sports event and Eslifie believes with a series of meetings with the Sports Minister their financial demand will be met.
“We have already communicated to the Sports Ministry and the discussions are going well, and they are quite aware of that and I don’t see why we should worry.
"They (MOYS) bring money to support the travel [and] they call it the travel grant so we then fix a particular figure for each athlete for air ticket and it is usually pre-financed”, he told Starr Sports.
