GPL: Samartex beat Great Olympics to extend lead at the top of the table

Ghana Premier League leaders Samartex bounced back from their previous setback with a commanding win over Great Olympics, further solidifying their position at the top of the table.

After a controversial 1-0 loss to Kotoko in their previous match, Samartex displayed dominance in Saturday's encounter at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

Despite their control of the game, it wasn't until the 82nd minute that forward Kwasi Ofosu found the breakthrough goal, securing a vital victory for Samartex.

With this win, Samartex now boasts a comfortable seven-point lead at the summit of the league table, with only six games remaining in the season.

Their closest challengers, Nations FC and Aduana FC, faltered in their matches, with Nations being held to a goalless draw by Bibiani Gold Stars, and Aduana suffering a surprising 2-1 defeat at home.

On the other hand, Great Olympics' defeat leaves them dangerously close to the relegation zone, sitting just two points above it.
