Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Alhaji Raji says he foresees a keenly contested premier league this season.
After several months of delay to the start of the premier league, the Ghana Football Association and Premier League Board fixed February 20 for the start of the new season.
And it was launched at the FA secretariat on Wednesday February 17. All sixteen clubs representatives were available for the launch of the domestic top flight competition.
And Alhaji Raji believes the euphoria surrounding the start of the season is a sign of how come Ghanaians have starved for local football.
“We have been away from football for a very long time and we’ve all been waiting for this is the date we’ve all been waiting for,” elated Alhaji Raji told sportscrusader.com
“I believe that the euphoria tells us that we going to have a very competitive amd keenly contested league where any team can pick points from any one,” he added.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko and West Africa Football Academy will open the floodlights for the start of the league on Saturday at the Sogakope Park, and the remaining seven-league fixtures will continue on Sunday at other match centres.
