The 2016/17 Ghana Premier League resumed over the weekend with games across seven centres. With Aduana Allstars not in action, Asante Kotoko were expected to win and overtake the 2009/10 champions at the top of the league table.
The Porcupine Warriors did overtake Aduana but the fans were left unhappy with the team picking a point with a barren draw against lowly placed Inter Allies.
Great Olympics recorded their first win of the season when they came up against Ebusua Dwarfs. Osah Tetteh Bernardinho got the vital goal for the Wonder Clubs as early as the 3rd minute.
A 2nd half goal from Benjamin Bature for Medeama SC cancelled out a Michael Kporvi's 3rd minute strike to earn a point for the Mauves against Tema Youth. Medeama SC will be happy with the away point but they're still without a win in 6 consecutive games.
WAFA SC
Berekum Chelsea did pip Hearts of Oaks by a lone goal at the Golden City Park. Stephen Sarfo scored the solitary goal, his 3rd of the season.
WAFA recorded the only away win of the week beating Bechem United by a lone Daniel Lomotey strike.
