Garden City Savings and Loans saves Kotoko

Garden City Savings and Loans Ltd, a local financial institution in Kumasi once again came to the rescue of Asante Kotoko when players of the club threatens to boycott their trip to Obuasi to continue with their pre-season training under the instructions of their Head coach E.K Afranie due to unpaid salaries and bonuses.

Authentic information made available to yours truly reveals that the Board of Directors promise to raise money within the board to pay the players but up till now it still remains a promise which have not been fulfilled. Upon this, a Board Member who always comes to the rescue of Kotoko when the club is in need talked to the officials of the financial institution who promise to help the club out of danger.True to their words they honored their promise on the 7th February 2005 before the team departed for Obuasi.In all, salaries of last two months were paid as well as last years bonus.

In another development,Obuasi based Asante Kotoko supporter called Peter Kwabe! na Takyi have offered his house to be used by Asante Kotoko as camping base for their pre-season training at Obuasi.In addition he also donated 4 crates of soft drinks,4 crates of eggs,1 crate of blue jeans energy drink and a bag of rice to the team yesterday.

Another refreshing news is that reliable midfielder Yussif Alhassan Chibsah have returned from Sweden where he underwent a series of trials to seek a professional football contract in Europe, he will therefore join the team in Obuasi on Friday to prepare for theirs first MTN CAF Champions League match.
