Eccentric Football Administrator, Kofi Manu, popularly referred to as Blue Blue has called on defeated GFA Presidential Aspirant, George Afriyie to go and render an unqualified apology to his former boss Kwesi Nyantakyi if he has dreams of contesting another election in the near future.

According to Kofi Manu, it would be foolhardy for anyone to think Kwesi Nyantakyi was not influential in the recently held elections, adding that the former FA boss still wields considerable power behind the scenes.

In the estimation of Kofi Manu, one of the main reasons why George Afriyie lost the GFA presidential elections to Kurt Okraku is because of his widely reported ‘fight’ with Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Kofi Manu said until George Afriyie realizes the fact that he erred in his falling-out with Mr Nyantakyi, he would struggle in his attempts to become President of the Football Association.

“Let us not pretend that Kwesi Nyantakyi didn’t have an influence in this election. He did and he is very powerful even though he is not in power. Let me say it here that George Afriyie must go and apologise to Kwesi Nyantakyi for how their relationship broke down. Nyantakyi has done a lot for people in this football industry and they are loyal to him. He opened doors at CAF for the likes of Fredrick Acheampong and Tony Baffoe and many Ghanaians.

Even George got to CAF because of Kwesi Nyantakyi so George should go and apologise if he has any ambitions of contesting any elections.

Two weeks ago, Kurt Okraku was voted in as the new president of the country’s football governing.

The Dreams FC chief won the first contest after polling 44 votes against George Afriyie who had 40 with Nana Yaw Amponsah and Fred Pappoe bagging 27 and 6 votes respectively with Amanda Clinton and George Ankamah failed to grab a vote.

In the second round, the former Hearts of Oak communication team member had 59 votes against his competitors George Afriyie and Nana Yaw Amponsah amassing 43 and 16 votes respectively.

Former GFA vice president, George Afriyie conceded defeat ahead of the third round of the election.

Mr Kurt Okraku was elected as the new boss of the Ghana Football Association after polling 93 votes of YES as against 26 delegates opting NO.

Despite the bitter loss, Mr Afriyie extended a congratulatory note to Dreams FC boss and took the opportunity to thank the delegates who played a role in the voting process.
