George Boateng, Coventry City coach, played a pivotal role in securing the signing of Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante, as reported by Flashscore.
Boateng, who previously called up Thomas-Asante to the Ghana preliminary squad during his tenure as assistant coach, helped finalize the deal.
The 25-year-old forward, who can also play on the wing, has inked a four-year contract with the Sky Blues. The transfer fee from West Bromwich Albion remains undisclosed.
Thomas-Asante began his professional career at Milton Keynes Dons in 2016, followed by loan spells at Sutton United and Oxford City. After leaving Milton Keynes in 2019, he had a brief stint at Ebbsfleet United before joining Salford City, where he played 126 games, scored 30 goals, and won the EFL Trophy.
His impressive form at Salford earned him a move to West Bromwich Albion in the Championship, where he was the top goalscorer in both of his seasons, netting 9 and 12 goals respectively.
Thomas-Asante has also been capped by the Ghana national team. He debuted in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic in June.
