Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante believes that working with Coventry City assistant manager George Boateng will significantly advance his career.

The Ghanaian striker recently joined the Sky Blues from West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee during the summer transfer window. This move reunites him with former Black Stars assistant coach George Boateng at Coventry.

"I was already familiar with George (Boateng) because he used to come down to watch me at West Brom while scouting for Ghana. Knowing he had a fondness for my game and seeing him as a coach here made sense. He brings a wealth of experience from his playing and coaching career," the 25-year-old said after making his Coventry City debut in a 2-1 pre-season loss to Werder Bremen.

"Working with the manager and especially with George is something I feel can give me the edge to reach the next level," he added.

Thomas-Asante, who scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 43 games last season, considered a move to Hull City before joining Coventry City.

After making his debut for Ghana against the Central African Republic in June, Thomas-Asante hopes to be included in the squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger in September 2024.
