Gerald Asamoah winning hearts and minds in China

Schalke fan favourite Gerald Asamoah has spent time with local children on the side's tour of China.

The Ghana-born ex-German international is in the Far East where he has been serving as the Royal Blues ambassador.

Schalke are on a training tour of China, preparing for the start of the German Bundesliga.

The Royal Blues thrashed Guangzhou R&F FC 6-1 in the opening pre-season fixture.

The 37-year-old took a trip to a local school in Guangzhou, much to the delight of the youngsters in attendance. Games were played, and pictures were taken, but most important was that the much-loved fan favourite was able to teach them the correct pronunciation of 'Schalke 04'.
