The Ghana League Clubs Association says the introduction of electronic ticketing helped to reduce fraud at the gates during the President Cup match.

The new system helped the body to gross GH¢ 120,000 in the match between Hearts of Oak and rivals Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on 01 July.

According to GHALCA, 10,000 spectators paid to watch the match

The amount realized is woefully inadequate compared to the league match between the two sides back in March which grossed over GH¢ 500,000.

But GHALCA chairman Kudjoe Fianoo insists the association is satisfied with the amount.

“For the first time, I will say we are happy with the amount we received from the President’s Cup because of the measures we put in place to derive the maximum from the gates,” he said.

“What we got from the gates was a true reflection of the attendance.”
