Head coach of Ghana’s women's U-20 side, Yussif Basigi, has named the Black Princesses' final squad for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, which is set to commence on August 31 and run until September 22, 2024.
The squad, who have been in camp for more than a month, includes 21 players made up of 3 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 6 midfielders, and 7 attackers.
Some of the players include U.S.-based goalkeeper Jenna Kayla Sarpong and defender Alexandra Emefa Tay.
Stella Nyamekye, Mafia Nyame of AS FAR, Salamatu Abdulai, and Mary Amponsah are also making the squad.
The Black Princesses, who are in Group E of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, will face Japan, Austria, and New Zealand.
The Black Princesses will be hoping to pick up the pieces after exiting the previous World Cup at the group stages in Costa Rica.
Earlier this year, the team won the women’s football tournament at the African Games hosted in Ghana.
