The Ghana Football Association has confirmed parting ways with Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah have agreed to mutually part ways.
This has squashed earlier reports that the 54-year-old had his two-year contract terminated and the Ghana FA set to pay him off with a huge US$ 100,000.
Appiah met with officials on Friday and both reached an agreement for both parties to go either way.
A statement on the Ghana FA official website read: “The two parties met on Friday morning to reach the agreement on the departure of Mr. Appiah.
“The lawyers of the two parties will meet next week to decide on the severance package for Mr. Appiah based on the contract of his appointment.
“The GFA wishes to thank Mr Appiah for his diligent service to the country as the coach of the Black Stars for the past two years.
“We wish him every success for the future.”
Appiah took charge of 27 matches and managed to win 12, lose 10 and draw 5 during the two years.
