The maiden edition of the F360 Ghana Football Awards will be held on Sunday the 8th of July 2018 at the Accra Marriott Hotel, Airport City, 7pm prompt.
The award, which is powered by Kwesé Free Sports and produced by AE Media Communications, will recognise the most outstanding Ghanaian football stakeholders in the season under review.
Nominees for the various categories - Ghana Footballer of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, Future Star Award, Goalkeeper of the Year, Home-Based Player of the Year, Foreign-based Player of the Year and Women’s Player of the Year were all unveiled during the launch in April.
A voting system consisting of a special electoral college (journalists, captains, coaches = 80%) and the general public (20%) has been instituted for the past few weeks to select winners across various categories, with supervision from the world-renowned auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Some expected guests for the inaugural event include; Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Asiamah, Atletico Madrid and Ghana midfielder Thomas Teye Partey, Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew, and ex-captain of the Black Stars Stephen Appiah.
Members of the board for this prestigious award are former Black Stars players Augustine Arhinful, John Paintsil, Abukari Damba and veteran sports journalist Carl Tuffour.
Like the FIFA the Best Awards at the global level and the CAF Awards in Africa, the Ghana Football Awards, has come to fill in a void in serving as a point of aspiration for Ghanaian footballers both home and abroad.
The franchise is set to become an annual tradition that will bring football lovers together with their stars for a night where debates will be settled amidst a celebration of the nation’s number one passion.
Countdown to the Ghana Football Awards 2018.
