The first ever congress for Ghanaian coaches has been held in Accra. It brought together a host of Ghanaian coaches from all over the country to share ideas on several issues concerning their work and the way forward for the organisation.

The Congress, the first of its kind was held at the Ghana Football Association (GFA)’s secretariat on Saturday with President of Premier League side, Elmina Sharks, Papa Kwesi Ndoum as the special guest of honour.

According to the leadership of the Ghana Football Coaches Association, the programme will be repeated at least twice every year, an action they believed will help put Ghanaian coaching at the right standard within and outside the shores of Ghana.

Some of the coaches who were in attendance were Didi Dramani, Oti Akenten, Michael Osei, Sellas Tetteh, Jacob Nettey, Maxwell Konadu, Richard Kingson, Abukari Damba, Achie Sellas among others.

“This is the first time we are having a program like this and personally I have learnt a lot from it. Seeing some of our top coaches like Didi Dramani and Sellas Tetteh share some of their experiences and ideas was very good for some of us the young coaches” Jacob Nettey told FootballMadeInGhana.com.

“Football is now changing day in day out, so there’s is the need to come together as unit to have some of these discussions from time to time. We have some good young coaches coming up and we need to encourage them with our experience and advice, so I believe that this congress will go a long way to help football coaches in Ghana” he added.
