....World Cup Team for Sponsorship
May 18 -- Ghana is the tenth ``most attractive'' soccer team for corporate sponsorship among he 32 nations at next month's World Cup in Germany, according to a survey by sports marketing company Global Sponsors.

Brazil is the ``most attractive''. The world champions, which includes Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos on its roster, was ahead of second-place France and third-place England, the London-based company said. Global Sponsors compiled the results through responses from purchasers of sponsorship rights within Fortune 500 companies.

Brazil's ``South American cocktail of style and passion in their play'' creates a team that the public admires, said founder Michael Stirling in an e-mailed statement. ``Our clients recognize the opportunity this brings and want to connect with it.''

The announcement was made about a week after U.K. magazine Marketing said the English national team was the world's most valuable by sponsorship revenue.

Portugal and Italy complete the top five in the Global Sponsors list, while South Korea and Ghana were in a top 10 that didn't include host Germany and the U.S.

``These two national teams are undoubtedly powerful platforms, but their attraction to the citizens of the world doesn't extend as well outside of their own national boundaries,'' Stirling said.
