The ITF/West African Tennis Circuit served -off at the Lawn Tennis court of the National Stadium yesterday, with the Nigerian lad Iyiola Yusuf crashing to his Ghanaian counterpart Mohammed Salif.
The Ghanaian, who was determined to carry the day, showed his mastery of the game, as he scored many points at the expense of the home lad who could not hold his own when the chips are down.
In another game Olawunmi Sadig also of Nigeria lost to Sow Alagassinou of Guinea , who confirmed his supremacy , but the story was different with the Togolesse Obanle Lionel who triumphed over Gabonesse's Akomlo M'lapa.
Over 13 countries entered for the circuit which is a prelude to African players, who have the ambition of turning professional in the future.
Among these countries are Cameroun, Ghana, Niger, Gabon, Benin Republic, Togo, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and some other players from Europe and America.
