Ghana Set To Begin U-17 Recruitment

The Technical Team of the National Under 17 is embarking on a tour of the ten (10) regional capitals in Ghana from 14th – 31st January, 2016 to scout for players born on or after 1st January 2000 with the requisite physique, technique, skill, talent and groom them for selection into the national under 17 team.

At each capital a mini tournament for players will be organized with the able support of the Regional Sports Development Officers (R.S.D.O) and Regional Coaches.

1. Tamale – 14th – 16th January, 2016

2. Bolgatanga – 17th – 19th January, 2016

3. Wa – 20th – 22nd January, 2016

4. Sunyani – 23rd – 24th January, 2016

5. Kumasi – 25th January, 2016

6. Takoradi – 26th January, 2016

7. Cape Coast – 27th January, 2016

8. Koforidua – 28st January, 2016

9. Ho – 29th January, 2016

10. Accra – 30th – 31st January, 2016

Interested players are requested to report at any of the centers with their birth certificate or any proof of their date of birth and Ghanaian citizenship as well as the necessary kits for the exercise. Players who already have an MRI Certificate may bring it along.

Players would fill a personal data form giving their date of birth, parents names, siblings (if any) data, schools attended with date/teams played for with dates. The form shall be signed by the player and parent/guardian and subsequently verified.

If any information given turns out to be untrue the player in question will automatically be disqualified from the team even if selected.

PHASE II

The selected players from the regional tour totaling shall assemble in Prampram from 3rd – 4th February, 2016 for a justify your inclusion exercise.

PHASE III

Players born on or before 1st January, 2000 from the Academies across the country would join players from the Airtel Rising Stars for another justifier your inclusion exercise from 5th – 7th February, 2016.

PHASE IV

Players selected from the academies and Airtel Rising Stars will join those from regions to form the final team which would start camping from 9th February, 2016. The players selected after this phase would go through the MRI.

The MRI shall be done by two medical houses independent of each other and the results compared to ensure the right selection is done. If any player fails the MRI test the player would be disqualified. Players who made the grade but were rejected due to numbers/positions will be put on standby and monitored and called upon should a player fail an MRI test.
