Ghana Tennis Club wins at Eid al-Fitr Tennis Competition

Ghana Tennis Club(GTC) beat Atomic Tennis Club 8-5 on aggregate in a special (Eid al-Fitr) holiday Tennis competition held at Adabraka.

Ghana Tennis Club proved their dominance in the singles winning 5-1 whiles Atomic Tennis Club put up a plucky performance to win the doubles 4-3.

Captain of Ghana Tennis Club, Nana Poku, set the tourney rolling with a 7-2 win over Fred Tsyi. President of the club, Godwin Ayindua, bowed 2-7 to President of Ghana Tennis Club Dr. Abraham Opppng in a marathon game described as one of the best games in the competition.

Henry Mensah of Ghana Tennis Club proved too strong for his opponent as he won 7-2 whiles Thomas Ohene Effah cruised 7-2 over Andrews Adu Appiah.

Michael Amoako Attah's 7-4 win over Bernard Alidu put some joy into the faces of the visitors.

In the doubles event, the away team, Atomic Tennis Club, dominated the doubles section as Captain of the club Fii combined effectively with Andrews Adu Appiah to win the first doubles game 7-4 against Thomas Ohene Effah and Patrick Tenkoreng.

The Atomic Tennis Club's Godwin and Fred Tsyi(Capo) broke their opponent Dr. Abraham Oppong and Christain thrice and further pushed them to commit several unforced errors and won the game 7-4. Abele and Amoo took over from Godwin/Fred in the third doubles game and ousted Ghana Tennis Club’s Captain Nana Poku and Derrick 7-4.

The fourth game saw Genin and Wofa Yaw recording similar win over Sena and Mohammed.

However, the home team turned things around as P.K and Issah showed their superiority over Kingsley Sem and Ekow beating the visitors 7-2. Their win inspired Henry and Tennis Machine to beat Albert and Vero 7-5. Yaw Adjei and Lakai of Ghana Tennis Club ended the friendly tourney very well with a 7-1 win over Vandapuye and Bobby.
