Member of the Ghana Football Association technical directorate Ben Koufie says he is unconcerned about who is appointed next Black Stars coach.

Koufie’s apathy has been as a result of the Ghana FA’s decision to dismiss Kwesi Appiah who he describes as competent for the job.

The 82-year-old CAF and FIFA technical instructor was also overlooked for the technical advisor role for the Black Stars due to his age.

He was recommended by Appiah but the Ghana FA Executive Committee rejected him.

According to reports, 32 coaches including one Ghanaian Kim Grant, applied for the job before last Friday’s deadline.

“I do not care who is appointed as the new coach of the Black Stars,” Koufie told Accra-based Joy FM.

“The man who I thought was competent has been given the sack so as for me I do not care whatever or whoever is named as the head coach.”

Koufie is a former Ghana Football Association chairman.
