Accra, April 20, GNA - Ghana has pulled out of the scheduled June 3 international friendly meeting with the Mexican national soccer team. Black Stars head coach, Claude Le Roy who announced this in Accra on Friday said that the team cannot honour the game, which falls on the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA)'s day for friendly matches.

This will be the first time this year that Ghana will be missing out of the FIFA dates.

The Stars will, however, parade against another world-class team when the scheduled resumes in August.

The Coach said the Black Meteors impending Olympic Games qualifier against Nigeria on June 3 influenced his decision not to honour the friendly encounter.

"The Meteors game is one of importance that needs extra attention". The coach's decision is also to afford the Meteors coach, Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio the luxury of selecting players like Asamoah Gyan, Michael Helegbe and Haminu Draman among others who double as members of the two national teams.
