Ghana Football Association executive committee member Wilfred Kwaku Osei wants Black Stars new coach Kwesi Appiah to hold talks with Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah to reconsider representing the national team.
Asamoah, 28, last played for the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil due to injuries, and although he recovered weeks before the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in January, he declined joining the team due to personal reasons.
Ghana is in dire need of points to turn around its ailing 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign after picking one point from two games.
"We need Kwadwo Asamoah in the national team. His creativity is beyond measure and so Ghana need him urgently to achieve success," Osei told Asempa FM.
"He is the type of chaps who can turn things around for Ghana. He can easily make things easy for us during games. We need that kind of midfielder in the team and Kwesi Appiah must try his best to convince him to make a return with immediate effect since we need results badly," he added.
Appiah has been tasked with qualifying the Black Stars to the 2019 AFCON holding in Cameroon as well as winning it.
