Ghana’s caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu has admitted that holding the Black Stars coaching post is a tall order.

Konadu, who deputized for sacked coach Kwasi Appiah has been handed the temporal coaching job, and has managed to pick four points from the maximum six points from two nations cup qualifiers; drawing 1-1 away with Guinea and winning 3-1 on home soil.

But the former Asante Kotoko/Wa All Stars head trainer has said take charge of the Black Stars is a very difficult task.

Responding to his experience as the overall boss of the team in a post-match press conference at the Tamale Stadium on Wednesday, he said “My brother, it’s not easy o, it’s very very difficult, but as I rightly said, we are all working for mother Ghana.”

He revealed that he failed to tender in his application letter for the vacant Stars coaching job due to the fact that he still remains the deputy coach and that it was not right for him to have done so.

“I am still the assistant coach, I don’t think it would have been proper for me to have applied. Moreover, the FA has tasked a team to look for a new coach and I think we should allow them do their job,” he said.

Meanwhile, Konadu has paid glowing tribute to the family of the soccer fan who died on his way to Tamale for the Ghana-Guinea game last Wednesday.
