Ghana is well prepared to beat Mali - Fred Pappoe

Former chairman of Ghana's Black Stars Management Committee, Fred Pappoe, has disclosed that the Black Stars are well-prepared to defeat Mali in the 2026 World Cup qualifier in Bamako.

The Malians have been in good form, winning three of their last five matches, including victories over Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and South Africa.

According to Pappoe, although the Malians have improved recently, coach Otto Addo has honed the Ghana team, and he is confident in the Black Stars' ability to earn a win in Bamako.

"With the right thought and kind of preparations the Black Stars have undertaken, I don’t think this is one match where I will tell you I am scared. I respect the Malians; they have a good team.

"They (Mali) have been playing well for some time now, but I am still very hopeful for this team and the technical direction of the team. I am hopeful we will get a good result," Pappoe stated on 3FM Sunrise Sports.

Pappoe was part of Ghana's management team when the Black Stars beat Mali 2-0 in Bamako in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
