Ghana ready to host Africa Cricket Championship

The operations manager of the Ghana Cricket Association, Benjamin Ackom, has said the country is ready to host this year’s Africa Cricket Championship.

The GCA has selected three ovals for the continental showpiece, which is scheduled for October this year.

Ackom is confident Ghana will enjoy a successful hosting of the Africa Cricket Championship.

“We are readily prepared to host the Africa Championship because facility-wise we are covered. We have drawn our programme to prepare our girls for this event,” he told Starr Sports.

He added: “Ghana was able to win the Africa division three even though we were in division two then but we were granted the right to host Africa division 3 for about seven countries way back in 2011. And this is even a small tournament so it won’t be a problem at all.”
