Ghana's AFCON qualifier against Sudan likely to be played behind closed doors, coronavirus impacts

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that there have been talks between the Sports Ministry and the Ghana Football Association to hold Ghana's 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan behind closed doors due to coronavirus concerns.

Ghana recorded it first cases of the Covid-9 pandemic on Thursday which has raised concerns as to whether the games should be allowed to go on or not.

According to our source, the Sports Ministry met officials of the Ghana Football Association where discussions were held to inform CAF about the country's decision to play the game behind closed doors.

In attendance were General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, Black Stars management committee chairman George Amoako and Co-coordinator for the various national teams Alex Asante.

The Ghana Football Association after the meeting have been directed to inform CAF about the country's decision on the said issue.
