Ghana Center Amida Brimah has made his debut in the NBA Gatorade League playoffs by featuring in Austin Spurs win over Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Spurs topped Vipers with a 117-91 win over Vipers in the second round of the postseason; the game was Spurs first in this year’s playoffs after earning a bye in the first round by virtue of topping the Western Conference.

Amida registered ten points, five rebounds, a steal and three blocks in 19 minutes off the bench. He converted five of six attempts from the field in the game.

The former University of Connecticut Captain combined well with starting Center Matt Costello to nullify Vipers Zhou Qi’s threat in the post.

The 7 foot 2-inch Chinese player was restricted to three points and six rebounds but fared better in blocks as he recorded four rejections.

Costello had 18 points, seven rebounds and four blocks to power Spurs to the big win behind Point Guard Derrick White’s game leading 20 point mark.

Spurs play in the Western Conference Final on Thursday against either South Bay Lakers or Reno Bighorns.
