Ghana's Coach Extends Sympathy To his motherland

Ghana’s Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac has expressed feelings of sympathy to his homeland after having plotted their downfall in the World Cup.

Serbia, making their first appearance at the World Cup as an independent nation, have booked an early flight back home after being knocked out in the group stages. Rajevac’s Black Stars beat his homeland 1-0 in the opening group match before the Serbs beat Germany, but then lost to Australia.

“Of course I am sorry that Serbia is out because of Ghana. They came here with hopes of doing well after doing incredibly in the qualifiers. I think they should not have underestimated Australia because all teams at the World Cup deserve respect and are good. If they weren’t good enough, then they would not have qualified in the first place.

“The reality is that Serbia had a chance of qualifying at the expense of us, but they just let it go. I haven’t watched their match against Australia, but I would want to believe Australia fought hard for the victory,” says Rajevac.

The 56-year-old adds that he would not offer specific advice to Capello ahead of the England’s match against Germany.

“Capello is an expert in what he does. He is experienced enough and I am sure he will look at this match and draw his own conclusions. I have no advice for him because I am sure he will make the right decisions himself ahead of their match against Germany. For me, I am focused on the game against USA,” adds Rajevac.
