Ghana’s Fastest Human(GFH) athletes meet Akufo-Addo

The GFH Athletes payed a courtesy visit to the President of Ghana. The President who was proud of the athletes lauded their contribution to Sports in the country.

The President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo was as the officially launch of the 2017 edition of GNPC Ghana's Fastest Human 100m athletics program.

Two noble athletes who drew the attention of Sports Corridor, serving as a great platform for athletes in Schools, particularly Tertiary Institution were Desmond Aryee and Ida Mensah both from the University of Ghana. Sports Corridor has followed the progress of the two athletes and there is absolutely no doubt that they will make Ghana proud in future.

Ida Mensah, a level 200 student reading Business Administration, who was admitted through the University of Ghana Policy for Admission of Students Sports(UGPASS) broke 100meters record in University of Ghana is part of the programme. Her personal best was 11.66 seconds during the Ghana Circuit Games in Kumasi in April 2017 and is the 2nd best 100 meters’ women’s time in Ghana as captured by the UG Sports Directorate.

Also, Desmond Aryee who is the reigning 100meter runner in the University of Ghana with his personal best of 10.29 seconds in 100m met with the President.

Desmond affectionately called Usain Bolt Junior, has represented the University of Ghana in the Federation of African University Sports Association (FASU) games and also International Federation of University Sports(FISU) in Russia. Desmond also holds a record (10.57 sec) when he broke Stallin Issah’s 34-year record (10:60 sec).

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Fastest Human Athletics(GFH) programme led by Reks Brobby, Founder and CEO, is an athletic sprinting initiative organized to promote athletes in the country to meet international Standards.

The 5th year of the initiative is a collaborative work between Corporate Ghana and Government to organize 100-meter competitions across Ghana for males and females in Under 10, Under 15, Under 18 and Seniors categories.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo was at the launch of the event on 26th April 2017.
